Wenger Didn't Interested to Cahill Again

LONDON – Great performance of Laurent Koscielny and Per Mertesacker lately, back of Thomas Vermaelen’s return from injury, Arsene Wenger finally make out of it to recruit Gary Cahill in January.

Cahill had anchored very close to Arsenal in the summer transfer. However, Wenger offer to Cahill of 3 million pounds, whose contract will expire end of this season, was rejected by Bolton Wanderers because of too cheap.

“We’re getting him on last summer, but at that time Bolton was too greedy, “Said Wenger as quoted Tribalfootball.

Cahill again linked with Arsenal in the January transfer. Bolton reportedly not willing to release the flagship of the player for free. However, Wenger quickly asserted that he was no longer interested in bidding Cahill.

“At this time the squad we already have five people, a central defender Koscielny, Squilacci, Mertesacker, Vermaelen, and Djourou.Four of them are international central defender, “Wenger said.

However, Wenger doesn’t rule out the possibility when the next season along with Cahill’s contract expired, Arsenal interested in recruiting for free. Wenger hinted he was willing to accommodate the defender who has seven caps with the England national team.

“Cahill had a good enough quality to play in the Champions League, “Wenger said. (-jw-)
